Free Crafts at Lakeshore Learning Stores

Every Saturday from 11am - 3pm there are free kids crafts that your kids can make. Here's what is schedule for the next two months. Our closest store is on Warm Springs & Stephanie.

July 9th - July 29th Magic Tree House: Pirates Past Noon (6-11 yrs - Read book, every Wednesday from 5:30pm -6:30pm. Games & crafts too. Limit 20)

July 12th - Puppet Extravaganza @ Your Library (0-11 yrs. 3:00-3:30pm)

July 13th - Mad Science (6-11 yrs. 6:30pm-7:30pm, fun interactive science show)

August 13th - Kindergarten Countdown (4-5 yrs 2pm-3pm preview for kids going to kindergarten and their parents)

August 15th - Middle School Survival (10-11 yrs. 1pm-3pm kids going into 6th grade and their parents)

August 22nd - National Aviation Week (6-11 yrs. 3pm-4pm stories, games & crafts )

Story Times:

18 months - 3 years old - Tuesdays at 10:30 am (25 minutes)

3 years - 5 years old - Thursdays at 10:30 am (30 minutes)

0-5 years - Wednesdays at 10:30 am (30 minutes) and Mondays at 6:30 pm (30 minutes)

Special Tuesday Price $4.25 - not sure if children are cheaper as well on this day

Here is the info & what is playing right now.
(Some nights there are double features - check before you go, that would be two movies for two adults for around $12. That wouldn't happen at a regular movie theater!)

Ethel M Chocolate Factory Tour

Ethel M Chocolate Factory - Free tour to see how they make chocolate and at the end receive a piece of chocolate. Located in Henderson on 2 Cactus Garden Drive, the tours are open from 8:30am to 6:00pm. If we get a group of 10 or more together we can get a special tour, if you're interested please leave a comment or email somersetwardreliefsociety@gmail.com.

Anderson Dairy Ice Cream Tour

Now this is a fun one!

The Barnyard Buddies Tour. The kids get to tour the facility and even see some penguins helping out with the ice cream packaging - very "cool" (ha I crack myself up). Anyway, after a darling video presentation about the history of the dairy and the tour, the group meets back in the "tree" room for a cool treat - Free ice cream!

Kids Activities at Galleria Mall

The First and the Third Tuesdays of the month there are activities at the Galleria Mall for kids to participate in. (Need an excuse to go to the mall?)

June 2nd
Dental Health Day - When we grow up we only have one set of teeth. Let's learn how to look after them with flossing, brushing and dental visits. Lower Level, next to Gordon's Jewelers, 10:30am

June 16
Let's show our Dads' how much we love them. BOO has a Father's Day card for you to give Dad on his special day! Lower Level, next to Gordon's Jewelers, 10:30am.

July 7
Celebrate our country's birthday-music, flags, and parades. Let's see how many Presidents we can name! Lower Level, next to Gordon's Jewelers, 10:30am.

July 21
Fun in the Sun!! Enjoy summer but let's be safe. What to wear....sunglasses, lotions, hats and plenty of water and being safe at the beach. Lower Level, next to Gordon's Jewelers, 10:30am.

The Home Depot's Kids Workshops offer useful projects including the creation of toolboxes, fire trucks and mail organizers, as well as more educational projects, such as a window birdhouse, bughouse or Declaration of Independence frame kit.

The workshops teach children do-it-yourself skills and tool safety, while at the same time helping to instill a sense of accomplishment. Additionally, this fun time allows for quality one-on-one time between adults and children.

In addition to the newly constructed project kit, each child receives a kid-sized orange apron, similar to The Home Depot associates' aprons, and an achievement pin.

Free movies outside near the water at Lake Las Vegas. Bring a blanket or low chair, no coolers please. All movies start at 8pm.

Free Kids Movies at Colonnade Theater

At the Colonnade Theater on Eastern they have free kids movies on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Arrive 15 minutes early. There are two options each day (so technically you could go both days and see both movies each week). There is also a park (with water feature) across the street to play if you need to tire the kiddos out before nap time!
